Fields of Light

Awake, my dear.

Be kind to your sleeping heart.

Take it out into the vast fields of Light

And let it breathe.

~Hafiz

about this project

Spectacular. Florida clouds are spectacular. Summer thunderheads are fat, heavy, and larger than life as they loom over the Gulf, or over your head, on a sticky July afternoon.

But clouds here can also be other–soft, swirling and feathering–morphing before our eyes into forms that transport us to their realms.

Fields of Light was inspired by these amazing Florida clouds over a few years and seasons. I discovered their magic quite accidentally, but once I did, I was hooked.

The entire project took form when I came across the lines from a poem by the14th century Persian poet Hafiz. Breath. Light. Emotion. These form the project Fields of Light.
