Runes

There is something within us knows our fates from the first, our ends from the very fountains.

about the runes

Runes are the alphabet for ancient Norse languages. But they are so much more. Seers cast runes to foretell ill or auspicious fortune. There are 25 runes in the alphabet known as the Elder Futhark, the oldest written system of the time. Each rune carries within it a sound, a representation, and a higher symbolic meaning.

The Web of Wyrd, or Fate, is the cloth woven by the Norns, three sisters from Norse myth whom it is believed are the Shapers of Destiny. The cloth they spin represents the interconnectedness of past, present, and future. The web is made of nine interconnected staves that represent all of the possibilities that lay before any life. It is said that every rune can be found within the Web of Wyrd.
